Who needs an an axe when you have a lightsaber?
On the left, you can see a kid dressed as a Storm Trooper, building a snowman. I don't have short minifigure legs in white, so I've used a brick with a groove to get a similar effect.
If you look a little closely in the picture above, you might notice that none of the trees are touching the ground. One of the two centre trees is attached with a 1x1 headlight brick behind. By linking the green plant elements together in a line, that's enough to hold the line of trees in place.
